sprout weekend food bags

2024 - 2025: October 2024 - june 2025

Sprout Weekend Food Bags (WFB) aims to ensure all children have access to healthy food over the weekend and lessen the financial burden of rising food costs for families. 20% of children attending Teton County School District #1 qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. This equates to approximately 574 children. Nutritious food is crucial for a child’s development, health, and well-being each and every day. The WFB program provides free groceries to families to ensure children have enough healthy food for the weekend. Bags consist of an assortment of items like fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy snacks, and easy- to-make meals that are both rescued and purchased. To increase accessibility, WFBs can be received at school, home- delivered, or collected from the HFR Hub.

enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will open September 2024

Relying solely on rescued food does not supply Hole Food Rescue with the consistency of fruits and vegetables that we aim to provide to children. For that reason, we purchase food in order to ensure nutritious meals and snacks for the youth in our community.
